Inaugural Alumni Association Outreach Session |

When I was first told that ACS OH will be forming an Alumni Association (AA), I was excited and proud to be part of the pioneering team to build this association from ground level. We welcomed a number of former boarders back to ACS OH at our inaugural Alumni Outreach Session on 1st August 2010 Sunday.
The Session kicked off with an address by the Chairman of the ACS OH Management Committee, Mr Koh Kok Hong, to the former boarders. Mr Koh introduced the Alumni Association, sharing his reason for wanting to establish the AA, and laying out the association’s vision and objectives. This was followed by a video presentation prepared by Xuan Tung, a former boarder of ACS OH. Next, I shared more details about the AA, including future events, means of contacting and volunteering opportunities in ACS OH. As in all ACS OH events, there was plenty of food available, and everyone had a great time of fellowship.
The AA seeks to serve as a platform for our former boarders to stay in touch with each other and also with our favourite AHM/s. The AA aims to keep in touch with every member regardless of where our members may be, whether in Boston or Shanghai pursuing their further studies, or even when they move into the corporate world.
In addition, AA members can also serve the ACS OH community through the association! Imagine a caroling team consisting of AA members spreading the love and joy of Christmas during the December holidays! Members can also volunteer as mentors to the newer boarders, and helping them in their studies, or sharing with them about lessons learnt.
I would like to use this opportunity to welcome all graduating boarders (Sec 4, Year 4, JC2 and Year 6) into our Alumni Association and our former boarders of ACS OH. Do sign up with us and I look forward to meeting you in the future!
